TEAM

Together Everyone Always Matures. And what a TEAM this is. I keep this in the present tense because it is apparent that you guys are still as close as you ever where. I am honored to have been part of this history making group. It is hard to believe that it has been 23 years since we won the National Championship in St Louis and the comment that Anson made the following year about this team's incredible spirit even after a loss. It really showed how together and GREAT you all are!! I am sad that I could not make the reunion. I had a prior professional commitment that I could not rearrange. I am hoping there will be another get-together in the not so distant future.

First, a huge round of THANKS to Missy and her men - from "Team Management" for
going another major step forward in keeping us all in touch. Damn, you're good Blue Eyes !!!

Our Reunion showed us all that there is such magic between us all, even after 25 years. It was just
AMAZING and thrilling and humbling. I'll guarantee you there is absolutely no other adult team like
this anywhere, any time. Something like this only happens once in a lifetime, and only then if you are
very, very lucky. We are ALL blessed with each other's friendship and caring.

Kevin, George, Sheri, Janet . . . all hit on it: PASSION , for the game, for each other, for what we
individually and collectively stand for. That's what the Michelob Ladies Football Club is all about.

Hi From the Walkers (Shellie Theis)

My handsome but liberal hubby added a blog entry about our reunion at

This is so cool, having a way to keep in touch!

A few thoughts

You know, I really had a great time seeing everybody! It was like a soap opera, we just picked up where we left off!

I want to share a feeling I have with all of you. Ok, I didn't play youth soccer here in Dallas but I assure you I was on great teams in Virgina at the time some of you played for Sting or D'Feeters or whoever. While on MLFC I usually felt that I had missed some connection somewhere. Yeah sure, I got along with everybody (didn't I??) and we were a great team. There was just something missing.....maybe it was all those years that you all had your rivalries or all the years that you played together or against each other. Anyway, I guess I never felt I had that strong bond. I know....blah blah blah. But something made me feel good the other day. Missy sent out something Kelly M. had written. At the bottom, after naming all these memories of hers there it was......"Babbs signature slide-tackle".....That small statement made me think that just maybe I did make more of a difference than I thought. So, thank you Kelly for showing me that somebody remembered something I did. When I first started sliding, my mom thought I was just a clumsy child always falling. BUT...the

Ok, I'm through. Please don't think of this as a pity party. I treasured every moment and every memory I have of this team. Oh, and my mom was tickled that somebody mentioned her washing uniforms at the Fiesta Tournament in San Antonio. She said to tell everybody hello.

Welcome to the MLFC blog !

It was great seeing you all at the reunion! We now have a way to keep in touch so that we won't have to wait another 25 years to find out what everyone is up to! Make sure to keep us updated on things going on with you (ie. new jobs, kids, moves, etc.).
